Excerpts from Commendation Letters
"I am writing this letter to praise the staff of Clove Lakes. The hardest thing I ever had to do was put my mother in a home two years ago. Her Alzheimer's had gotten so bad that I could no longer take care of her and continue to care for my family. From the first time she entered, she always seemed happy. She was clean, fed, and everyone always went out of their way to make her smile. The staff has a done job that I could simply not do and it made things a little easier. They were always there to answer all my questions and were always polite."
"On behalf of my entire family I would like to thank you all for the wonderful care and professionalism you had showm my mother during her stay at Clove Lakes. It takes a certain type of individual to do what you do all day in and out and we couldn't be more grateful to each and every one of you. Every time we came to visit we left knowing she was in the best of care and there was never any doubt in our minds that she was in thr right place. To the entire staff on of unit 6A, we can't thank you enough for all that you have done to keep our mother, grandmother, great grandmother safe and secure. We will always remember each and every one of you and hope that you can continue to touch lives of not only your pateints but their families lives as well."
“I had right knee replacement surgery on 11/29/11 and spent four days at NY hospital for special surgery and was then transferred for 20 days to your facility for rehabilitation. The entire staff at the Nursing Home is to be commended for excellent care I received. The doctors were always available and very caring. I cannot speak highly enough about your Nurses Aides. The Nursing staff I cannot speak highly enough of. Also, my physical therapist did an excellent job strengthening my leg so I could walk. I will need left knee replacement surgery in the not too distant future and will definitely choose Clove Lakes Nursing Home for my rehabilitation. My thanks, once again, for providing excellent care.”
“Words cannot express how grateful we are to those who worked with my husband on the 3rd floor. Your kindness and compassion were unending. Everyone, from the Nurse Manager to the fantastic Nurse’s aides should be commended for their wonderful care during his final days. You saw to his every need, showed him comfort and compassion and gave him the dignity that he so deserved. Your caring and patience will always be remembered.”
The Riccardella Family
“I was a resident of your facility from January 8th to January 22nd on the Lobby Unit to receive rehab due to a total knee replacement. I chose Clove Lakes because my sister was a patient there about eight years ago and because I was familiar then and since with the reputation of that department. It is evident that the Health Care Center is cared for under someone’s watchful eye, from the moment one enters the lobby and on to the rooms, the cleanliness is noted, and there is never an offensive odor. It is proof everyone has a job on a 24/7 basis and their work is done to the best they can provide. As you can see I had no regrets in coming to Clove Lakes and would come again for my other knee and will recommend it often. Thank you and your capable staff for excellent care.”

I felt compelled to write to you and express my family’s heartfelt appreciation for the exceptional care our mother was receiving in your facility. In particular, I singled out a CNA Christina for the extraordinary physical and emotional care she provided to our mother. Now, two and half years later, she has moved onto a new situation and she takes with her family’s profound gratitude for the 3+ years she was my mother’s primary care giver. We are once again writing to you to acknowledge such an extraordinary employee you have working at your facility. I will also take this opportunity to acknowledge the overall satisfaction we experienced with your total facility and other employees we have interacted with during these past three years. We also wish you and your entire Clove Lakes family a most joyous holiday season.

“Too often patients arrive and leave in such a hurry, that the staff you have does not get the recognition that they truly deserve. The professionalism, respect and true dedication to the caring of their patients in such a time of need should not go unrecognized. My stay at Clove Lakes has been an experience that I will forever be grateful to all that helped me in my recovery.” "My experience at Clove Lakes has been extraordinary and as mentioned previously. I am forever grateful for that and one that I will never forget.”

I knew I had to let you know the wonderful care I received while I was in your facility. You can be very proud of your staff and know that it takes more than learning how to administer to the needs of the old, the ill, the people who are being rehabilitated after a fall, like me. Its the caring, the kindness, the little things that really help.

Please know how much I appreciate the wonderful staff on 4A and how well they cared for my aunt all of these years. They were always attentive to her needs, which fortunately were few, and they always laughed and joked with her and always let me know if anything was out of the ordinary. Carmela went very quickly – within a few days. During that time I contemplated putting her on hospice, but know in my heart that she was with people who loved her and cared for her so well, and knew that her last days should be spent with them.
I am so glad to be able to tell everyone of the very positive experience we had over all the past years. Thank you…and please extend my thanks to your wonderful staff.

I have now been a resident of Clove Lakes for the second time in the past year. I had my second hip replacement on 1/31/11and entered the home for rehabilitation on 1/16/11. Just as my first stay in July 2010 was pleasant, my second stay was just as memorable. I commend everyone on the 3rd floor for all their patience and kindness.
My special thanks goes to my therapist who for the second time outdid herself. She is not only a superb therapist but also is one filled with compassion and understanding.

I am thankful to have good hearted people surrounding my mom every day. Not only does it make a difference in her day, but mine as well. Living a bit distant from SI, it is comforting to know that people are looking out for her best interest. As many days as I am there, I always appreciated when the staff takes the time to phone me if needed when I am not.
I feel it necessary to commend a few specific individuals that go above and beyond. But, that should not discount the wonderful job of all associated with the 6B team nor the consistent care of the entire staff of Clove Lakes.
A sincere thank you and a big smile,
